Connecting to the next generation
Try this fun lesson with your children or grandchildren:
Gather all of the ingredients needed to make brownies from scratch. Have the children sample a few of the pleasant tasting ingredients as well as a few of the unpleasant tasting ingredients. After the brownies are baked, sit down to enjoy a brownie together. As you are eating the results of your joint effort, explain that life is like brownies. It is made up of pleasant and unpleasant parts, but God can make something good out of them. If possible, apply this to a difficult situation they may be going through at this time. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 (Taken from the Extreme Grandparenting DVD study.)
