Grace Filled Marriage :: Quote of the Day :: Sept 26
“(As I have said before), marriage must be a safe place for hearts to walk around naked. Obviously, this isn’t giving a green light to unnecessary high drama. Some people confuse being vulnerable with rehearsing hurt over a lifetime. There’s nothing grace-filled about that! When a spouse requires a typical heart-to-heart conversation to slip into the muck and mire of past disappointments or regrets in order to feel like the discussion is official; sorry, but that’s not vulnerability. That’s cruelty. It’s also insulting to the finished work of Christ on the cross. We worship a God who went to great pains in order to make it possible for us to live with a clean slate, enjoy new days, and always get to have a hopeful tomorrow on our horizon.”
This book is filled with hope and encouragement with chapters such as “A Grace-Filled Perspective” and “Grace Frees You to be Different and Vulnerable”. Dr. Tim Kimmel and his wife, Darcy Kimmel, explain how Grace has been the best thing for their marriage and how it’s the best gift you can give for your own marriage. Give yourself the gift of grace!
