Mother’s Day

As we get ready to celebrate Mother’s Day, we’d like to pay tribute to the women who have shaped our lives. In our busyness, we sometimes forget just how much our mothers do to hold things together.

Here’s just a sketchy job description of the Queen Bee.

She has the most creative and demanding job in the world (might be a little exaggerated but many times it feels like it).

Her job involves: education, cuisine, fashion, taste, decorating, recreation, transportation, psychology, romance, designing, literature, medicine, handicraft, art, horticulture, economics, government, community relations, pediatrics, geriatrics, entertainment, maintenance, technology, purchasing, direct mail, law, accounting, religion, energy and management. Anyone who can handle all these is someone very special. Thanks Mom!!

As a woman, whether you are a teacher, a youth leader, a doctor, an aunt or a friend, a Sunday School teacher and/or a mother or stepmother, influencing the next generation is the avenue through which women have an incredible opportunity to make an unrivalled contribution to society by nurturing and encouraging well-adjusted, confident and responsible children who are living their lives for God and others.

As we make plans to mark this annual celebration, let’s make sure we honor the special women who have built into our lives and shaped not only our future but the future of those we touch.
