A Sobering Reminder

We had a sobering reminder of how precious life is and how important it is to invest one’s life in things that last forever. The Family Matters’ team was just back from a Raising Truly Great Kids Conference and we got a call from one of the attendees who had brought a friend with her to the conference. That friend loved the conference and was particularly touched by the music videos that we use to help make the point of grace-based parenting. At the beginning of the next week, that friend passed away suddenly, leaving behind her family that she loved so much. As they were planning her funeral, they wanted to include the showing of two of the music videos that we use at the Raising Truly Great Kids Conference – Nichole Nordeman’s song Legacy and Rodney Atkin’s song Watching You. None of us know how many days we have on this earth, but each of us has the opportunity to make each day count by loving each other the way God loves us- with grace. Carpe Diem!
