Advancing Grace

Family Matters is frequently invited into the private recesses of families across the country.  We’ve come to appreciate that it is within the confines of family that God does some of his greatest acts of sanctification and redemption.  You see, within family, lives come together in the most intimate – sometimes invasive – ways.  Families are often a place where we face some of our greatest trials. Maybe 2013 has been a year particularly filled with both triumphs and trials when it comes to your family. We are reminded of Paul’s second letter to the Church in Corinth.

And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people. 2 Corinthians 8:1-4

As we enter the Christmas season and reflect upon the birth of Jesus – we look back at an amazing year.  For us at Family Matters, it has been a year of hard work, many breakthroughs and great generosity.  We’ve reached more people than ever this year.  We’ve heard countless stories of transformation.  We’ve set the table to minister to another generation of families.  We couldn’t have done all this without you! Each of you is a blessing to our ministry. Every email we receive of a life changed by a conference, or a home group doing a video study is a confirmation of God’s work through Family Matters. Each time you share one of our blog posts, or like, tweet, or pin something that we have shared that is meaningful to you, we feel God’s favor. For each way you encourage us, large and small, we are grateful. If you feel led, the end of the year is a great time to make a tax deductible donation to Family Matters. May He encourage your hearts, warm your homes and bless you richly with His love. Merry Christmas!
