Summer Family Traditions

Traditions are one of the ways to build a secure love into your child’s heart. Summertime is a great opportunity to establish some family favorites when it comes to traditions. Here are some of our suggestions.

• Establish a movie night and take turns picking your favorites.
• Try a new recipe once a week with the kids helping in the kitchen.
• Choose a night or two to lie out under the stars and name the constellations.
• Learn a new board game together.
• Memorize a passage of scripture as a family. Start with the Ten Commandments.
• Go on a virtual vacation and become experts on that part of the world.
• Allow the faithful church nursery workers to have a break this summer by taking their place.
• Read a book out loud that everyone will enjoy and give each reader a turn.
