November is Foster Care and Adoption Month

Throughout the Bible, God shares His heart for orphans and widows in distress (Deuteronomy 10:18, Psalm 68:5-6) and calls on His people to share in this passion and bring to each child the love of Jesus (Isaiah 1:17, James 1:27, Matthew 25:40). Currently, there are between 400,000 and 600,000 kids in foster care in the United States. There’s a great need for families to open their hearts and welcome these children into their homes. Many of you already have and what a blessing you have been in their lives! Whether you’re considering Foster/Adoption or have already responded to this call, we have several resources to support you. We’ll be sharing them throughout this month, but wanted to start by sharing many great blog posts written by Family Matters Ambassadors who too have responded to that call from the Lord. If you personally don’t feel called to Foster or Adoption, one thing you can do is stand with us in committing to pray for the orphans, the families that care for them, and the agencies working hard to find them a home. Our prayers are heard and truly can make a difference in these children’s lives.   https://gracebasedfamilies.com/blog/2012/04/30/should-your-family-foster-or-adopt-5-questions-to-ask/ https://gracebasedfamilies.com/blog/2013/03/08/foster-care-is-not-easy-do-it-anyway/ https://gracebasedfamilies.com/blog/2013/03/19/why-i-am-a-foster-dad-part-i/ https://gracebasedfamilies.com/blog/2013/03/12/choosing-the-blessing-of-challengesfostering-and-adoption/ https://gracebasedfamilies.com/blog/2013/03/18/lord-of-the-rings-vs-foster-care-adoption/ https://gracebasedfamilies.com/blog/2018/05/01/you-dont-have-to-be-a-saint-to-be-a-foster-parent/
